Open up your eyes: Bali trip 2013

12 November 2013
Whoot whoot! I'm back from Bali! Sunburn and feet sores all over me but I'm all okay. I had a great time there (4D3N) and the whole trip meant very much to me and how I view the world. I stayed in Kuta Lagoon Resort & Pool Villas, maybe I can check up google images and see if any picture is available. :B

Technically Bali is a Hindu-populated Island. On the Island itself, there are 2 volcanoes (both active, but please don't imagine Lord Of The Ring-styled volcano). Took a whole day tour on the 8th of November (last friday) and I gotta tell you, it is tiring as heck!! But I had fun, so it's good. :B

Oh, the trip is also a 3rd anniversary trip for the company that I work with, Gigglegarage. Thanks so much to the swaggy bosses Ed and Zeno for the whole experience!

The thing that I like about the whole island is that it's attention to beautiful details. Every monuments they had, it was made of rocks and those rocks really looked sturdy. And they are practically everywhere, as far as you can see.

Look at this 'gateway' (above) for example. Guess what it is? It is actually the 'entrance' to the beach. To the beach!! And every entrance there'll be this kind of monument awaits to welcome you to the mystical and mysterious culture of Bali.

How about this particular hotel (below) with a more modern approach in terms of materials and style. You might think the photo could be quite boring, but looking at it right in front of the building itself gave me goosebumps. It really is an amazing and quite unique feature!

Isn't that just amazing?

Anyway, there's more to talk but I have so little time to tell it all. The conclusion is, even though I am practically still in Southeast Asia and the culture is not something I've never seen before, but coming here, it amped up my views towards the Hindu culture and how religion plays a very important role in one's everyday life. So syok!

Before I sign out, here's a photo of yours truly, along with Dede, our trustworthy travel guide. :Say hi to him for me if you met him in Bali yah! :D

Susmeng (means thank you in traditional Balinese) and see you guys again next time!

Messed up Review #002 - Pokémon X & Pokémon Y: The Official Kalos Region Guidebook!

22 October 2013
I just received my copy today! I pre-ordered the book a few weeks before the game was released and it was released a few days ago.

The Review:
The cover sleeve is partly glossy, partly matte, overall metallic featuring the Kalos region map inside it. Its hard cover, 416 pages of pure no-sleep-whole-night reading pleasure. Theres a screen wiper and a kalos map region poster included with type comparison behind the poster. Though no pokedex (released later in december) but there are lots more info inside like npcs and hidden items (require dowsing machine). They also released maps like previous guidebook, it smells like a library book (lol) and overall fits nicely in your hand (sized like an iPad). Do consider getting it if you have extra cash lying around. Hehe.

The Content:
The book contains guides through battling gym leaders, Pokémon distribution throughout the routes of Kalos, Elite Four, terrain maps, hidden items, and many more. The book also distinguish which Pokémon is available in a certain area so you will be prepared to battle and encounter rare Pokémons and won't miss the chance to capture it!

The Conclusion:
For a die-hard PokéFan like me, I'd highly recommend anyone who's planning to play the game to its maximum potential to buy the guidebook. The game itself are already entertaining as much without the guidebook but with it you can bet it's gonna be much more fun!

Owned a copy of the book yourself? Share with me your opinion down below!

Pokémon Tribute Button Badge Designs Artdrop

07 October 2013

These are my personal fan-made tribute art for Pokémon. They're from the first, second, and sixth generation of Pokémon starters. I sell these during Animangaki 2013. I had tremendous amount of fun while producing them. I even learn a little bit about business and marketing here and there.

With the release of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y in just about 5 days now, I can't wait to come out with more designs that suit every Poké-lovers out there.

Oh, more will come during Comic Fiesta 2013, just you wait and see Pokéfans!

I go sleep now.

Talk to you guys later.

Best wishes,
Matsuo Amon.

#Throwback from last December. Just 9 more days before Pokémon X and Y release!

04 October 2013

This is my first time posting on blogger via mobile so please cut me some slack. Haha.

Last year there was an announcement made by Satoru Iwata of Nintendo. It was regarding this new Pokémon games. Now, after I have been patiently waiting for the release date (watch the video) it all comes down to the ten days countdown and boy, the amount of leaks were humongous!

I can't wait! Meep!

Ttyl.

Hari Belia 2013! And a dance performance by Fizzie Meiko! (Fb link in my post)

19 May 2013
I just need an excuse to share my friend's dancing video on YouTube. Here's her performing in Hari Belia 2013 (Youth Day 2013) back in my hometown, Sabah, Yesterday 18th May 2013.

So anyone who sees this, what do you think? Quite the dancer eh? I might be wrong but she's singing to Hatsune Miku in the background. Yeah, a Miku freak. Haha.

To know more about my friend the cosplayer, go to her page here and show her your support!

Anyway, I always hated government-based event. They really don't know how to decorate the whole venue. And that BIG FACE on the stage just killed me silently deep inside. But outside, I'm cracking up very badly. Poor people who perform there have to see that big humongous face while they're performing. I bet it's a disturbance. luckily HobbyCon's around the corner.

Cheers guys n gals!
